Rachel Kushner spoke SO HIGHLY of Duras I thought, god, this sounds like it was made for me!!

Very much not. Confusing writing (I admit, the French didn’t help), an unreliable, unlikeable narrator, a lack of narrative, the whole ~p*do angle — haaard pass.

a waste of 13€.

Damn why’d I actually kind of feel sad at the end of this book??? Very well written, but the nouveau roman style made it confusing at times. It kind of reminded my of Ru by Kim Thuy in that way? Overall enjoyable

 Maravilhoso.
