This was a really wholesome story following Belle as she has to re-engage with the witch side of herself in order to keep her magic.

I loved all the whimsical descriptions and humour sprinkled without the book. I've watched Lucy on YouTube for years and could literally hear her saying some of the lines which was a lot of fun! Belle was a great character and I liked a lot of the side characters too, especially Arty.

I thought the plot was interesting but dragged in the middle for me, the pacing was a little off. The last 100 or so pages were great though and I loved how everything wrapped up. It was great seeing Belle finally stand up for herself.

⭐️⭐️⭐️✨

Belle Blackthorn is a witch who has been keeping her magic on the backburner. Between her job at Lunar Books, a nightmare boss, and hiding her powers from her best friend, she has not had the time to use them. When she turns thirty, she is summoned to face her coven in a trial that will determine her witchy worthiness. If she fails, she risks losing her magic forever.

This was super cute, cosy and fun. The perfect kind of read for autumn. I related to Belle in so many ways, especially as someone in their late twenties. That creeping panic of not having achieved enough before hitting thirty felt very real.

Artie and Rune were definite standout characters for me, and I really enjoyed the audiobook narration. The northern accent of the narrator added such a warm and grounded touch to the story.

The plot was a little predictable for me, and I was never truly compelled to keep going. I could put it down easily without feeling desperate to dive back in.

I can absolutely see why people love this one. While it did not quite land for me, it was still a charming and magical read.

4,5*stars

I really enjoyed this book. It had cosy, festive and spooky vibes.

Belle our main character is likeable as we follow her through her witch trials - her witch life - and her mundane life at the Lunar Bookstore and her home with best friend Ariadne.

I liked all the characters and the plot was interesting to keep reading on. I almost didn't want the story to end as it has this wholesome magical vibe that I loved.

A cosy witchy book that’s perfect for the autumn season
