I really loved this book (highly recommend the audio version, great narrator).
I will say that I found the start a bit slow, likely because I can’t visualize things and therefore don’t tend to enjoy a lot of descriptions. But I was obsessed once things really got going for Bell 🥰

A lovely cosy autumnal read. Still some high stakes stuff to keep you interested. The first interaction with the MMC is wonderfully written with flirty tension. I did find the second third a tad dry.

Loved this cozy yet high stakes book. A magical quarter life crisis where she finds her confidence and she is a witch who runs a bookshop, what's not to like. I do love found family stories. A great autumnal read for the start of spooky season.

Lovely autumnal read! Has a nice bit of mystery and romance, but nothing too high stakes so makes for a relaxing read.

I'd argue the execution on the character development came a little out of the blue, some more foreshadowing would've been nice and that the romance wasn't needed. Felt a bit like "we need to include a romance plot".
||I'm just saying, Ari would've been a better love interest. I did not feel like the romance was built up well at all, and given that until the end, I felt like Ari & Belle kissing was more realistic than Rune and Belle, kind of shows that, I'd say. Also -- the way they kissed... No. Just no. Very uncomfortable, very forced. Really not needed.||
That being said, I love the minor antagonist Christopher (not as a person, but as a character in the story), and Arty. Arty (closely followed by Ari and then Bonnie) were absolutely my favourites. I also mostly felt like the story had a well developed cast, and the concept is adorable, amazing, and absolutely cute.
Tbh, the dark plans weren't really needed in my view; I think the story would've been fine if she just had to save her own magic, not the entiure coven. Felt very "chosen one shoe-horned in" near the end, which I did not enjoy
Tldr: not a master piece, but a lovely little cozy read if you don't want to brain too hard.
Only comment that I have is that the ending felt a little un-forshadowed (Bronwyn being evil really felt out of nowhere and Morena seemed to imply she could be redeemed but didn't, making this almost feel like a discarded video game part where you only see some remaining environment hints) and out of the blue, and that there really wasn't a need to a romantic subplot; I think Belle and Rune just becoming friends (esp with Rune meeting someone "young" and "out there", while Belle befriending someone "her age" that's a witch would've been enough. Also don't call your fucking bestie your "soulmate" and deprive me of wlw romance. Tbh that would've fit better.
