“The oracle had a prophecy upon your birth, that one would bring the true death to all of us and the other would be our savior.”

Leading up to her Awakening, Alex discovers the truth about the people around her and about the whole Apollyon situation. It felt like the plot was finally advancing. What I really liked is that there is more focus on the Greek mythology behind the story. There are even some Gods that show their faces, not always for the best reason though. One of the Gods is Apollo! Alex’s conversations with him were very amusing. She's so honest, no bullshit.
“Sorry. I just don't understand why he hasn't smited me or something.”
“The day is still young,” Apollo said, grinning when my eyes widened.

And unfortunately the love triangle kind of continues. I didn't like how most of their interactions are loaded with sexual tension. There's too much emphasis on it and it wouldn't hurt to ease up on that. Whilst I liked Aiden and tolerated Seth in the previous books, in this book Seth becomes more and more frustrating and I don't see why Alex still defends him. This guy has clearly never heard of consent and boundaries. Sharing a bond is not a good enough reason to disregard Alex’s opinion. It's been like that from the start, but now it got so frustrating. Aiden on the other hand is a sweetheart, especially in this book. There were so many moments where my heart just melted.
Aiden: “I wanted a piece of you with me always. No matter what.”
Alex: “But I don't... I don't have anything of you.”
Aiden: “Yes, you do. You'll have a piece of my heart—all of it, really. Forever. Even if your heart belongs to someone else.”

And he's always there for her, even if he doesn't fully agree with her choices. Great guy, honestly!
“Because I love you, we share each other's problems. When we fight, we fight together. I'm going to be by your side no matter what, whether you like it or not. That's what love is, Alex. You never have to face anything alone again And I get what you're saying. I don't agree with it, but I will support you in any way I can.”

Another thing I liked, which is not entirely unimportant, is that they're watching Supernatural! And if you're wondering what's so special about Supernatural, well, it's only the greatest show ever.
