I am glad to have listened to this one, because the narrator, Emily Zellar, really brought this story to life. There were some repetitive themes of YA/HF, but I still enjoyed the journey. I can't wait for the next installment.

i feel like i've been reading this forever, but lo and behold i've finished it! This was an intriguing book to say the least, i was definitely bored most of the time, but I was still interested to see what would happen with the characters. The plot didn't really move forward till about 250 pgs into the book, but regardless I enjoyed it and i'm looking forward to the sequel!

I think all the blood magic is going to be too much for me, not to mention the near constant demon/monster references to her powers.

The pace truly is slow, and the book spends more time living in the characters’ pasts than making any progress moving forward
