This really didn't work for me. It starts with the subject matter I'm not that interested in (except maybe the chapter about Victorian mediums) and ends with Mary Roach's tone which I found quite condescending at times. This just wasn't it.
Graphic: Animal cruelty and Animal death
Moderate: Medical content
Minor: Suicide

Not quite the delight that Stiff was, possibly because there's much less concrete to discover about the afterlife than about cadavers. Mary Roach's humor still took a front seat, which helped to make some very dry sections far more entertaining. Do not skip the footnotes--some of those were my favorite parts. Overall, the book didn't keep its feet on the ground, but the journey was still worth it.
Moderate: Death
Minor: Chronic illness, Cursing, Medical content, and Terminal illness
