 This is such a beautiful and tragic story but I did feel like the pacing let it down a bit, I felt like I couldn’t fully sink into the narrative because it kept jumping around and on this occasion that was a bit of a drawback for me - but it’s a really lovely book regardless and I still recommend.

I ran hot and cold on this book. Some parts were beautifully written with great descriptions. And I did learn a lot. However, none of the characters were particularly distinct, so had a hard time telling who was who at times
