I absolutely loved this book, if you haven't read it yet, you don't know what you're missing. It is my favorite book I have ever read, and being a crazy book fanatic, that's saying a lot.

This book truly makes you ponder on life a bit. I especially loved the ending because it leaves an ambiguous opening for the reader to decide what truly happened. And it's not simply how the story ends happily ever after it's a decision that chooses if the story ends happily at all. Much like the point of the story; choices can be dangerous but they give so much more in return.

Wow, this is far from "only" a children's book. What a strange, fascinating and disturbing world Lowry has created! Very compelling read.

A classic and with good reason. I love the theme of life being worth living to the fullest in spite of the pain because the love and joy found in it are so beautiful. I feel like the ending could have been a little less vague, but overall really good.
