This was a quick read but I felt like the book was trying to be more emotional than it was? It all felt very plain and albeit I like that about Japanese books, I didn’t find this one grasping my emotions. I couldn’t really connect to the characters as such. Still the book had some interesting ideas which I liked. Chill read. It made me chuckle a few times, but I don’t feel much about it in particular.

A quick but emotional read. Cried near the end ngl. Got me thinking about life.

i can’t help but think of an alternative ending where he dies before he gets to his father’s house, and so never gets to give him the letter but i’ll ignore that thought and just believe that he made it. anyways this took me longer to read than i expected but it was a great book - funny, sad, short and sweet.
