After reading 1984 as well as Animal Farm, I consider these as real classics that everyone should read at least once in their lifetime. Whether you like them or not, they will deliver a great message.

The slowly changing thought from 'all animals are equal' to 'some animals are more equal' was fascinating to read about. How everything looks so idyllic, but later on doesn't seem so nice anymore. Another book were George Orwell manages to put a concept that is timeless and can happen today, to the environment of a farm and farm animals. I also started to associate the animals with humans, as Orwell especially shows with the pigs in the story. This is one of those books that is short, but stays with you for your life.

Having also read 1984, I do think I like this book more. Especially the fact that it is a lot shorter, which kept me more interested in the story, helped a lot. When I read 1984 there were parts that were very dreading and long and slowed down my reading. It's impressive that Orwell managed to still make such a story with Animal Farm within so little pages. I imagine this being a great book to read if you have to read something for school as well. There is so much to say about the story.

I read and analyzed this allegory multiple times throughout school and feel that it is a must read for all students. Orwell does a fantastic job of ensuring that his commentary on society is heard through Animal Farm.
