This books presented dilemma for me on the one hand I recognise that the writing is consumable and I want to know the outcome and end-game but on the other it took me a bloody age to get through and I definitely feel like I need a break before diving into the next. It just wasn't retaining my Interest, I was bored throughout and I really shouldn't have been as there was plenty occurring.
This took me almost a week to get through anyone that knows me will realise that is an anomaly as I usually race through my books. It was also very long probably more than was needed it could definitely be condensed down some. It didn't feel like we were getting anywhere either. This series felt like it was going round in circles, just rinse and repeating the same set of mistakes over and over. Frankly it got monotonous.
As for Scarlett she is so bloody infuriating and her character growth seems limited don't even get me started on Talwyn as I could wax lyrical over her many flaws there just to numerous to individually list. I bloody hated her chapters with a passion she's just so unlikable. Sorin is my bright spot and fortunately made this all bearable.
Look I did enjoy parts of this the grand finale basically rescued this for me it was spectacular and so shocking. I definitely wasn't expecting it to all play out the way it did. I also did finish so I will be continuing on but I’m going to have a break and switch genres for my next read and I’m feeling a tad slumpy.
So yeh pluses and minuses for this it was definitely my least favourite of the series so far. It doesn't help that Scarlett just isn't doing it for me she's just too Scarlett, though I did appreciate her wickedly cruel vengeful streak. My take away thought from book three was it was way longer than it needed to be.

What. WHAT. what. I am unwell with the last 5-10% of the book. Setting that part to the side... I really enjoyed the relationship between Scarlett and Sorin. In many romantasy books, the FMC and MMC have a falling out and then in the next few chapters they are okay. The relationship between these two is so much more real. Honestly, who could forgive their partner for leaving them without doing serious trust rebuilding. This has been an amazing series and I am so eager to read the final two!

GOD I LOVE THIS SERIES AND MELISSA'S BOOKS & THE UNIVERSE SHE'S CREATED. It's not perfect but in a way it honestly is lol. Azrael & Talwyn have to figure it out before I actually freak tf out.

Raised this rating by half strictly because of the info we got in the end….. this was unnecessarily LONG - so much could have been cut out and gotten to the point much faster. Scarlett, you annoy me to death.
