I have some feelings about this book. I only gave it 2 stars because the very end slightly redeemed itself from the one star I was planning. More thoughts to come.
This book had its funny moments, but I still feel like the characters didn't go beyond the surface. It was a fun read, especially the second half!
Okay, there were a lot of people that hated this book, and quite a few that loved it. I thought it was middle of the road - good, but nothing overly special. I appreciate that it was written a bit like a travelogue, and I thought that it was easy to get into. However, Emma had quite a few TSTL moments - far too trusting, in my opinion, especially since she was travelling alone. Overall, this was cute.
I will say, though, if you want a book about finding your hero in a kilt, I would suggest Men In Kilts by Katie MacAlister - it's a hilarious contemporary romance, well worth a read.

Summer Reading Challenge 2016: A book that takes place in Europe
I was expecting very little from this book but thought it would be fun as I love Outlander so much. It was a cute book...but I listened to the Audio book and the accents were terrible. I also knew fairly early on how it was going to end but it was fun and funny.

Finding Fraser follows Emma Sheridan as she travels to Scotland in search of a real-life Jamie Fraser, the male lead in her beloved Outlander series. The book boasts witty writing and a cast of quirky, memorable secondary characters, but unfortunately, it also features a protagonist who is at times both exasperating and self-centered. And then there’s the romance subplot, which is rather unsatisfying. Without giving away any spoilers, I’ll just say that there should have been more interactions between Emma and the man she ends up with. It’s hard to buy into a relationship when you barely see the two characters together. All in all, it was an okay read. I can’t say that I’d read it again, but I also don’t regret having read it.

This was such a cute read and great for any Outlander fan! If I could give half stars, this would be a 3.5 for me - very enjoyable, but not something I’d pick up for a re-read.
It felt like the ending was clear from early on and I wish we knew more about Emma’s struggles before choosing to take her journey and her personal growth was more developed.
The ending was very sweet and put a smile on my face!

Emma's actions and decisions made me feel like she should have been early 20s and not almost 30. Cute read overall, especially if you like Outlander. Maybe I'll blog my future trip to Scotland...
