This would have been a great book if the main character hated women and people of colour less.
Never in my life have I read a book so aimed at the single white 30 year old man.
It was a grand and epic plot, which was really well executed given the amount of storylines - but the bias within is really hard to stomach.
If I hadn’t brought this on holiday, I would have put it down again just based on the graphic and sexualised way he described a woman’s murder in the first chapter.

Langt síðan ég las svona spennandi bók, hlakkaði til að lesa hana á hverjum degi. Ekki gallalaus samt en ég hélt þetta yrði 5 sktæenu bók og hún var það alveg fram á síðustu 50 blaðsíðurnar þegar þetta hrundi aðeins.
An incredible book, I’ve been recommended it a lot, and for good reason. The book reads like an epic, as suggested by the author, and draws you into the world of Pilgrim. I like that as a reader you can disagree with Pilgrim, but still understand a lot of his reasoning. In particular I enjoyed Pilgrim being a good balance of emotional and emotionally closed off, rather than too much of one - which a lot of main characters are written as.
