I loved the Pilgrim. It was one of the best well-written books I’ve ever read. It took me a while to get through it... because I was so invested - it sparked my curiosity and I researched places, art pieces, quotes and people mentioned in the book. All of my research proved it to be accurate and I really appreciate that.
The details, the storyline and the intelligent thought-process behind this book were fantastic and I recommend it to anyone who enjoys fiction detective/crime fiction.

This book was bought as a present for me from the lovely @thehelsproject. This is her favourite book, so it had a lot to live up to when I started reading! It was intimidating to pick up as it’s almost 900 pages, so I knew I had to be committed. I Am Pilgrim is a... read the full review here: https://www.amybucklesbookshelf.co.uk/2019/08/i-am-pilgrim-book-review/

Maybe 50 of the 612 pages were thrilling in this thriller. I really should have DNFed
It funny how I came across this book.
I had a few hours to spare before my train took me back home to Sydney. I was walking to the station from a cafe I visited when I stumbled across a small postbox library. I quickly skimmed the collection and the only book that stood out was "I am Pilgrim". I decided not to pick it up as I was feeling pretty down and beaten (from some earlier events). I kept walking to the train station and stopped to wait under a tree. A few moments passed before I saw a nomadic looking man walking passed. I remembered seeing him earlier and thinking he looked somewhat out of place. In his hands was the same copy of "I am pilgrim". Shocked, I told him I just saw that book 30 minutes ago in the post library. He immediately handed me the book and urged me to read it. He told me about his life and his 2 children. He looked beaten on the outside, but possessed an attitude that told me he had a good understanding of the world. On looking back, he acted quite a lot like the main character in the book - funny.
I have barely been able to put this book down since I picked it up. It has been the bridge for getting me back into reading. I am grateful the random man from Newcastle gave me the copy of I am Pilgrim
