I read this as a result of it being highly recommended on an online book forum. I'm so glad I did. I galloped through this one and it was a proper treat. I loved the characters of Washington and Tilly. I think they make a wonderful pair and it was so refreshing to read Tilly's narrative throughout the book - so honest and it had me laughing out loud at times. If only real life had more people like her in it. The ending is satisfying and wraps up nicely.
All in all, it was a thoroughly good read and I'm really looking forward to the next book in the series which I believe is out in the summer.

Excellent crime thriller that kept me hooked till the final paragraph. It is a bit on the unbelievable side, but set that aside and just go with it. Loved the characters and the Cumbrian setting. Very dark and gruesome crimes from the beginning, so beware.
