I really enjoyed this book, I love the characters! The story had so many twists and turns that kept me guessing. So well written in the setting of the crimes. I just couldn't put this book down. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series.

Wow! What a fantastic way to start of a series! I can’t believe that I have waited this long to get stuck into this what I think will be a fantastic series.
Isn’t Tilly Bradshaw just the best!!! Her talents are just remarkable. I know she is only a fictional character but she really made me feel that I would love to be her or even just have her brains. Watching her relationship developed with Poe was just great, both comical and touching, the relationship they build brings Bradshaw out of her shell and more resilient to what life throws at her.
Poe is just relentless in the way he pursues the killer, ignores anything his superiors say, strides over with ease at any obstacles thrown at him. The little nuggets of darkness within him make he a very powerful and appealing main character. I honestly can not wait to see how the both grow throughout the series.
This book takes the worst way you can imagine to kill someone but then twists it so that somehow you end up feeling sorry for the killer and can truly understand why he did it. Everything about this book it just fantastic, from the way it is written to the twists that unfold. The plot was just exceptional.
What a superb, entertaining thriller!! And the fact that there is a further six books in the series to read excites me. I think @m.w.craven may have just become a must read author!
I read this one as a buddy read with some of the best girls and every single one of us loved it and can’t wait for book two 🔥

Came recommended by many others so decided to give it a go. So pleased I did - what a journey and what an array of characters. Very well written, great story, and fantastic way in which Poe gradually uncovers the various clues in the investigation. Looking forward to the next in the series.
