Glad there’s a second book coming because I’m definitely feeling like the ending was abrupt.

Always a joy to read a work that massively influenced many of your favourite stories, and find that it surpasses most of them.
A vivid, and angry meditation on science, faith, and history. Post-apocalyptic fiction is saturated with power fantasies of the rugged individual so Canticle was a massive, and clearly has influenced works that try and go beyond this genre convention; Fallout New Vegas, Caves of Qud, etc

Shopping list mistakenly becomes basis of post-apocalyptic religion set in illiterate world. I think. I got a little lost about half way through. I seem to remember enjoying it.

This was an interesting read. Somehow, it blends religious ideology within a post-apocalyptic/sci-fi world, and it works well together. Part 1 was great, and I really enjoyed reading through it! But after part 1, I began to lose a lot of the interest I initially had for this book. Part 2 wasn’t bad, but there were some parts that I felt were not as engaging. Then part 3 was a little better than part 2, but I did enjoy the ending portion. I feel like this book will be better on the 2nd read. I will plan on re-reading this next year!

This was easily the best book I read this year, even became one of my favourites. A theologically correct interpretation of our possible future. The topic is just as relevant, as it was during WWII.
The was something for me to enjoy and appreciate in all three storylines. The two headed creature in the end was a bit too much, but it didn't take away anything.
