I'm speechless. Amazing writing. Amazing story. Amazing EVERYTHING.

I've never felt so emotionally connected with a book like I did with All American Boys. The book brought up police brutality in a way that people from all nationalities and backgrounds can relate to. Racism is relevant and it needs to be talked about. Thank you to the author for writing and sharing this message. I couldn't put the book down- I actually finished it while walking in the middle of my schools hallway and it left me in tears. If you haven't read this book already GO READ IT NOW!

I. Loved. This. Book. It's the first book I recommend whenever anyone ask for suggestions. At first, it was tough to keep up with the multiple perspectives, but once I got into the book I realized how necessary it was. All American Boys has an eye-opening, legitimate conversation about race relations, police brutality, and privilege in America today. This is a must-read for all ages. Thank you Jason Reynolds!

Extremely powerful and timely.

A year and a half later, it still makes my heart ache, and I wish even more for my son not to have to make those choices, because he is older and closer to them

Powerful book on police brutality.

I think this is a unique story because of the two perspectives in it. We have one black boy who is the victim of brutality and has been his whole life that he needs to act a certain way in order to be respected. On the other hand, there is a white boy who has been an all-american charmer for his whole life. My favorite part is the way Quinn questioned what it really meant to be all american.

I do think the writing was a little too direct. There wasnt much complexities, but story is beautiful.

3.5. Good story with a very important message. It was interesting how the viewpoints shifted. I had a bit of a hard time getting into Quinn’s chapters at first, which made it a bit harder to read. The ending left a lot of ends untied, which I suppose was on purpose. However, I wish we had more answers.

Took me longer to get through than I was hoping and it didn't flow as well as I would have liked - especially for a Jason Reynolds book. However, the importance of stories like these is absolutely undeniable and getting to know the characters was well worth trudging through the otherwise murky book.

This book released in 2015 remains incredibly relevant to the current world. Reflecting on social injustice, racial disputes and a difference in perspectives, this book hits them all. Through the eyes of two high school boys, the author makes the story both approachable and explanatory to readers of the marketed age group. With an appropriate depiction of thoughts running through all characters involved, the book ends with a well-rounded finish. Written well and engaging to readers as character pov alternates with each chapter.

Glad to see books like these are being written and becoming accessible for a younger age group and hopefully it can provide some understanding to surrounding circumstances and situations
