The reviews are probably vastly inflated by the Jim Lee crowd, because the series reverts back to the mode of soap opera bathos at this point. The page would like you to believe that the cast was not aware of the dangers surrounding them, but the truth is that Moore himself seemed to abandon the crime elements of the story a bit. It began to feel a little lifeless and bland at this point to me.

2012 Reread: I got lost in this for a month. My very first full reread since the series hit its ending. Since I knew where it would start and go and end up. It was just as terrible, wonderful, painful, heartbreaking, heart healing, amazing as every other read. I never stop knowing my heart belongs to this.

Beautiful. Heartbreaking. A fantastic read through and through.

I could probably say that about every single volume of this series.

Definitely becoming one of my all-time favorite books.

Continues to be one of my favorite reads. Beautifully drawn, wonderfully told story. So much to like about this series!

Strangers in Paradise was the first comic title I was obsessed with, not counting The Crow, which was a different thing all together. SIP was consistently astounding.
