What a fun twist on your regular fairytale retelling! You get to meet all the characters from various fairytales (personally I grew up on Grimm's and Hans Christian Andersen's fairytales) while following Alex and her twin brother Conner on their adventure through the Land of Stories and to find a way to get back to their mother. Also, I absolutely adored the twist that they're the grandchildren of THE Fairy Godmother herself - I have so many questions and will definitely continue the series. Rufus Beck as narrator is brilliant as usual. Highly recommend. Do check trigger warnings, it is a fairytale retelling after all, albeit being targeted at a younger audience.

The epigraph of the book quotes C.S. Lewis saying “some day you will be old enough to start reading fairy tales again”. Colfer takes the stories that we loved as children and gives them a new, yet familiar life in this fast-paced adventure. Where parts of it are definitely written with a young audience in mind, it was a joy to be old enough to start reading fairy tales again.

Holaa! Cómo andan? Espero que muy bien ❤️hoy les traigo la reseña de La Tierra de las Historias: El Hechizo de los Deseos, que es un libro que me provocó muchísimas sensaciones hermosas.
En el libro seguimos a Alex y a Conner, luego de la muerte de su padre, su abuela decide regalarles un libro que es muy importante para ellos: La Tierra de las Historias. El libro comienza a hacer cosas extrañas, irradia luz, salen pájaros de él, incluso si apoyas un lápiz en sus páginas, lo absorbe. Un día, Alex decide meter su mano dentro del libro, por accidente se cae encima del libro y el libro se la traga junto con Conner. Cuando ven a su alrededor, se dan cuenta que están dentro del libro, donde están tooodos los personajes de los cuentos clásicos (junto con los villanos) y para volver a su casa van a tener que hacer un hechizo muy complicado que necesita elementos muy difíciles de conseguir.
A partir de eso se desarrolla la historia y simplemente AMÉ ESTE LIBRO, seguir a estos hermanos en esta aventura fue una experiencia bellísima, amo con mi alma entera los cuentos clásicos y fue fascinante encontrarme con todos ellos en este libro, de momentos se me puso la piel de gallina y me provocó sentimientos muy lindos.
Lo leí rapidísimo porque literalmente NO PODÍA DEJARLO, me enganchó un montón, necesitaba saber qué iba a pasar, muchos elementos de la historia me parecieron originales y muy bien desarrollados.
Había leído a Chris Colfer anteriormente en Más Extraño Que Un Fanfiction y me había encantado pero no me esperaba todo el desarrollo de esta historia, es un mundo muy bien construido, las aventuras son geniales, hay escenas graciosas y tiene una pluma muy linda.
Sin dudas este libro me enamoró, no puedo esperar a tener la saga completa y devorarme tooooodos.
