This is very teen-forward. The teenage characters are un-relatable to most (well rounded) adults. They were pretty much the worst parts of being a teenager all rolled into one group of friends.

The ending was also extremely abrupt and I felt that not everything was resolved. Also, while it was advertised to be more of a murder, mystery, thriller type of book, the entire book was about anorexia. The murder and investigations by the characters didn’t even start until over halfway through.

If I wasn’t reading this for a book club, I would have DNF

This book is, and always will be, one of my favorite reads. The writing is gorgeous, the story engaging, and the characters vividly real-feeling. Plus the ghost has my name! Always a bonus, even if we share literally nothing else in common.

This is the book that convinced me to buy all of the rest of the author’s books, which was not a mistake. I love her writing.
