It was an interesting narration of elements considered inappropriate and distorted between characters built of widely different expectations, but understanding Sally Rooney's works require a fresh breath of perspective and dozens of thoughts.

The conflict was notable but because of the distinct length, it shortened the air of the story. Not a regrettable read.

On my mission to read all Sally Rooney literature I bought this little gem of a short short story, which depicts the taboo relationship between a young, impressionable girl and her guardian. The characters are evenly fleshed out and Sally Rooney's prose flows eloquently as usual. I loved it, I think this would be the perfect blueprint for a long-length novel, please make this happen!

i like it i think idkkk :/// i guess i’m not that into short stories.

i like her writing so much tho. she writes love stories that explore all the ugly and real things in a relationship. and i love that about her. not like other books that always write flawless characters with flawless love stories.

this short story is about a one-sided relationship (not an actual relationship) where a young woman falls for the only man that cares for her. (15 year age-gap).

“We were predictable to each other, like two halves of the same brain.”
