3.5 - Certainly twisty, but so many of the clues for the larger mystery felt overly highbrow and the rampant homophobia pissed me off. I did, however, appreciate the critiques of the prison system and sentencing paradigms.
In many ways, I would have preferred to read just the Atticus Pünd plotline and forget about the present day.

These books are very creative. I have read two. You get two books in one. One is Susan's story and the other is the book Alan wrote that is related to Susan's story. The two stories were a little tough to relate to one another in this book, but it is fun to try to figure out how the two go together.

Agatha Christie-esque with all the modern amenities. A fun romp in the English countryside with engaging characters, an old-school mystery with a classic cast of quirky suspects, a grand hotel and a book within a book- what more could you ask for during a pandemic in gloomy January?

This book is really fun and interesting. The frame story is great and I liked the inner story. Very well done mystery.
