This is basically a Harvey/Mike from Suits soulmate AU fanfiction and I’m not complaining. If that sounds good to you and you like Alessandra’s books (compulsively readable, ethically dubious, characters that bridge on cartoonishly asshole-esque), you’ll probably like it. Short and a fun read to turn your brain off for. Not very Christmasy though tbh.

“You treat me like a pet you keep on a leash and don’t want to share but refuse to pet yourself.”

This felt very similar to AH’s Straight Guys series (boss/employee, straight to gay) but with a magical twist (spells, soulmates). I wish it were longer, but I greatly enjoyed it even as a short story. I’m hoping this paranormal world is the setting for her new series because although we just get a glimpse of it here, I think it has potential.
