I did not expect it based on the book's title and description, but "Boss Man Bridegroom" by Meghan Quinn turned out to be a fantastic slow burn romance. The attraction between main characters Charlee and Rath slowly built but didn't reach a tipping point until nearly two-thirds of the way through the book. Both were reluctant to get romantically involved because of past hurts and the fact that they worked together, but eventually their feelings boiled over and couldn't be contained any longer.
I really appreciated that Rath never used his position as CEO to pressure Charlee for more than she was willing to give. They always seemed to act like equals despite the differences in their job descriptions. In addition, I loved Charlee and Rath's banter, especially the way they tested each other's limits and the funny nicknames Charlee gave Rath.
I found Charlee to be a very likeable and relatable main character. She seemed like someone I could be friends with in real life, mostly based on her love of historical romance novels and office supplies. She wasn't perfect, but she was a perfect match for Rath, and that's really all that matters. Rath's bromance with Bram was also a lot of fun, and reminded me very much of the relationship between JD and Turk on "Scrubs." My favorite part was when the guys started their own romance novel book club so that they could discuss their favorites. (Poor Charlee probably had no idea what a monster she was about to create when she convinced Rath to read that first historical romance!)
Overall, I loved "Boss Man Bridegroom" and will definitely be reading more of Meghan Quinn's books in the future.

Tropes: Boss/assistant romance, fake engagement to love.
Okay, so this novel is a bit of an emotional roller coaster. The heroine becomes the assistant to a billionaire who is stodgy and stuck in his ways at work. She decides to conquer with craziness and there are several funny interactions between the two. This is part of a series but I did not read the other books. The bromance between the Hero and his best friend is weird. The heroine is best friends with her grandmother who moves in with her because of a health scare.
Part of the movement of the book is the decision by H and h to get engaged and even married before the h’s grandmother gets too ill. The fake engagement turns more real as the two get to know each other better.
The problems with the story include the emotional rollercoaster that is the heroine’s life. She stops showing up for work every time anything goes wrong and I had a hard time believing that would fly for a workaholic billionaire.
This is not a literary masterpiece. It’s a bit weak. It does have some laughs.

Y’all this book was hilarious! It cracked me up and made me feel all the feels. It was such a cute read and I read it all in one sitting!
3 stars
Lots of LOL moments. However, lots of what happened in the book were over the top and unbelievable. And it was unnecessarily long. Took me so long to finish it. Plus it uses the miscommunication trope which I hate.
I will still read her other books as they make me laugh but maybe I'll stick to her shorter books.

Finished this one fast because it was so good! I laughed so hard, I cried and I swooned and smiled at all the romance in this one. Charlee is a literal ball of sunshine and made up of rainbows and so full of life. I enjoyed her character so much because she expresses her emotions so well and doesn't hide it. Rath was charming with all his being aloof and tough facade and they fit so well perfectly for each other. The tension between the two of them kept me on edge and waiting when and who will make the first move. All in all I enjoyed reading this book because it contains all of my favorite tropes. Grumpy one sunshine one, marriage of convenience, fake dating? It's all in here! Loved it!
I have never read a Meghan Quinn book that isn't 5 stars. This book is what great romcoms are all about. So much humor packed into a greatly written romance book. Meghan really sets the standard (and high). The humor poured out of every sentence. The one liners had me shaking with laughter (and almost developing ab cramps hahaha the best workout possible).
Rath is one of the hottest guys ever. I could feel his charm through the book. (Charlee had no chance

I LOVED every moment of this book! Rath and Charlee are laugh-out-loud funny with their antics, super smoking hot with their attraction, and groveling specialists at the perfect moments.

Organized after my own heart
To say I've fallen in love with Meghan Quinn's books is an understatement.
This book captures the best things in relationships! And I don't just mean romantic ones, the friendships, co-workers and quirky relatives. Rath has played a role in both Bram and Roark's books. And I knew the girl to bring him to his knees was going to need to flip his world upside down. Charlee was that from the first "snap". Sometimes I think when our hearts are broken in previous relationships, we miss all the things wrong before the actual break. Vanessa and Chris were that for both Rath and Charlee. I just fell in love with Charlee's wit, tenacity and lack of filter. Even though Rath had the hardest time opening up his heart, he wanted that forever love so badly. The journey was worth ever crazy story, antics and tears. Well done one more time Meghan!!!
