I really enjoyed reading this book. I particularly loved the characters in this book. The characterization is subtle but well done. They all feel like real people.

It's fast-paced and a delight to read.

Well, that was a pacing in the end!
It was a very well done retelling of Beauty and the Beast!
I loved that even though Harper has a disability and is not from this world she doesn’t let that stop her - she keeps going keeps fighting keeps learning, and of course giving those boys a turn in that woman are not all about the money and can hold it as good as the boys

3.5 stars. This wasn’t what I wanted it to be and I’m more interested in Grey’s character than Harper or Rhen, they bore me.

This was fine. Better than the last book I read.

I found the "love triangle" weak, kind of an absent throw-away, and while I thought it was cool that the main character offers disability representation, I feel like we didn't really lean into what a great source of representation it could've been. It was moreso discussed at the beginning of the book, and then nothing.

Overall enjoyable though! Don't know that I'll read the sequels, but this was a nice passtime.

I liked this, but it was impossible to forget that these great guys kidnapped hundreds of women.

To be honest, I didn't expect to like this book as much as I did. But I do like it! A lot! Glad I picked it up, thanks to the Books Ever After readalong. I'm curious to see in which direction the story'll go with the second book (and the third, obviously). Anyhow, this was a really entertaining retelling of Beauty & the Beast (I liked this one way better than Uprooted, by the way) and a fast read - I could not put it down during the last 30% of the book!

I’m rating it 4/5 (it was close to 3 tho tbh). I liked the story, I like the beauty and the beast vibe, I like the main characters. The story did lack in world building and background story for me (especially with the side characters). Especially nearing the end of the book the visualizing became harder for me. I think that was because of the lack of world building. I did not see the plot twist/ending coming but also am not sure what I think about it.
