A must read for any animal lover, but be prepared to have your heart broken and put back together. The author skillfully captures the simplicity and at the same time intricacies of the wolf’s psychology.

For the longest time, I have avoided reading this book, but I'm surprised to admit that I actually love it. I was captivated from the first paragraph and even though the themes of abuse made my heart hurt, I finished it and found that it ends very well. White Fang is a very savage book, with brilliant prose, and themes of redemption despite the hate and corruption that follows White Fang the dog through his life. If anyone is tempted to put it down, please keep on, and finish it. It's worth your time.
