Interesting and original character in an alternate America - the continent, not the country... which doesn't exist. Neither does the USSR - Imperial Russia controls the west coast. Magic works, and so do guns. And "gunnies", who guard shipments of goods, and travelers. I hope this grows into a long series, because there is just so much of this world to dig into.

*pumps fists in air** YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
This was so much fun to read! Gunnie Rose was a breath of sassy fresh air! I gobbled this down in about eight hours and am reading book two as I type this.

Started out slow, and I didn’t care for the narrator, but the story wasn’t bad. I loved the Sookie Stackhouse books and this one had a historical/dystopian storyline. I will probably read the next one if there is one.
