Like [b:Peony in Love|24472|Peony in Love|Lisa See|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1438435175s/24472.jpg|2328437], you have to accept that this is not a novel but a fairy tale. As such, it is enjoyable and fun to read.

I first read this book in grade 5 and loved it so much that I managed to convince my teacher to read it to the whole class. I've reread it several times since and love it just as much. The story is so well-crafted and the characters are fantastic.

This book was recommended as one of those unknown gems. I don't think it was so great. It is about the children of Hamelin after the Pied Piper takes them away. One of the children (who happened to be deaf) has to use her deep dreaming skills to save everyone. There were some cute parts but overall I didn't like the narrative style or repetitiveness of the narrator.

I read this book so, so long ago. But even though I don't remember everything I remember feeling nothing but excitement and interest the whole way through. I loved the story, I loved the characters and their flaws. I might pick this one up again.

For a fairy tale, this book is definitely geared for teens..espeically since most fairy tales are geared toward elementary school...
