That was unnescessarily cruel. And I’m supposed to wait a year for the next book? A YEAR?!! This was by far the best book In the series yet. I’m still waiting for MORE, for lack of better words, but otherwise this book was great. As for the negatives: There were a few cheap twists and I was a little disappointed in the climax of this book. I think Tahereh is brilliant at character development but lacks a lot In plot and world building. It makes me sad to such well developed characters in an underdeveloped world, but I’m looking forward to the next one nevertheless

This book was intriguing and full of twists and turns that shocked me. My main issue with this book would be Juliette suddenly reverting to the meek and quiet girl from earlier in the series and feeling a bit too naive for being the leader of the Reestablishment, especially at the beginning. The relationship issues were reasonable, but also felt like they were just a way to cause drama and could easily be solved through better communication and maturity on both of their parts. Still rooting for their relationship though! Overall, a solid book with a few small flaws. The ending was a definite shock and I’m excited to read the next book!!
