Enlightening on Scandic food/lifestyle but also disturbing about the witch trials.

I loved the texture of this story, the scenery atmosphere and lifestyle of this bleak place and time are really brought to life. The emphasis on women and their relationships in this as well as the time it is set, where religion and powerful men lay siege to tradition and folklore really gripped me.
