This is one of my best authors because her stories are very engaging.
The story is about 2 boys, 2 girls and a dog that actually go on a treasure hunt on an island that they one claims to own. They find some INGOT and then their troubles began where some men try to harm them. They set up a proper plan to escape the men's grip and escape to report the issue. At the end securing the treasure and island as theirs.

What fun. I wish I had read this (and the others in the series) when I was a child, I would have loved them.
I think I read the all series about 5 times, I was around 8 when I started reading them. THey had belonged to my father, so that made me much more excited (you can still find some fingerprints from when my dad used to eat and read at the same time xp) I love this books with all my heart and I'll never forget them. And I think as my father did, I'll pass my child these books (and much more).
As far as childhood faves go, Famous Five is a CLEAR winner. I think I probably read this book at least 20 times up until now. And honestly the trick George(ina) pulled off is still pretty smart to me bc she was like 11? What was *I* doing at 11 years old? Honestly idk, probably reading these books.

ich wollte diese bücher jahrelang nochmal lesen. aber in meinem Zimmer war immer kein Platz also mussten sie vor 15 jahren auf den Dachboden ziehen. aber letztes jahr als ich ausgezogen bin konnte ich sie endlich wieder in mein bücherregal stellen und ich wollte die bücher so unbedingt nochmal lesen. teilweise auch endlich zum ersten mal; mir fehlen noch ein paar Bücher aus der Reihe.
Naja es war auf jeden Fall schön es endlich nochmal zu lesen. Ja ich hatte es besser in Erinnerung, aber das liegt nur am Schreibstil, der halt eher für Kinder ausgelegt ist. vor 20 Jahren war das perfekter Schreibstil für mich. Und die Story is trotzdem super cool und ich mag George immernoch am meisten
(wobei es mich ein bisschen stört dass sie im deutschen georg heißt... naja ich tue immer so als wär da noch ein e am Ende ^^)
Ich wusste auch quasi nix mehr von dem Buch. Außer dass es ne Insel gibt und die sich hier kennenlernen. aber es ist sehr gut vor allem für Kinder, für die das Buch auch ist. Vor 20 Jahren hätte ich dem Buch 5 Sterne gegeben, aber heute kann ich das nicht mehr ganz mit mir vereinbaren... einfach nur weil mir ein bisschen was am Schreibstil felt.
Ist eigentlich auch dumm das dann zu bewerten aber naja. Dafür haben die restlichen Bücher dieser Reihe dann noch Platz nach oben ^^
