I loved this book! He drops many gems that I have saved and are incorporating into my own life. I’m purchasing this book for my son. I’ve always loved 50 but I have so much more respect for him now. He’s really smart.
Not at all what I was expecting.
I only got to this book because it was a gift. Despite being a huge fan, I wouldn't have read this otherwise because of the usual apprehensions to a biography - narcissism, cringe, preachy. For a good portion, this book too was leading right there. But the way it picked up from there, it was like having a conversation with a close friend. Genuinely loved all the anecdotes, confessions, practical lessons (instead of the generic self-help BS) from his experiences, the toxic relationship he has with his son, rap beefs, and the larger emphasis on hustling, no matter what.
The first half really made me want to put the book down. So glad I didn't. This man faced death when he was shot 9 times and came back from that to become one of the best artists of his generation. So of course, he was going to make an impressive recovery from that first half here.

Extremely underrated book, it's an easy fast paced read! You will get a lot of wisdom from it, it doesn't matter in which stage of life you are in!
It's a great book recommendation to somebody that wants to get into reading for self-improvement, if they are not really a reader!
Don't get fooled by the title, for those who are turned off by these kinds of titles.
It got my 5 stars, because it's enjoyable, a lot of stories in it from the entertainment industry and business in general! You will relate a lot to those stories and the dynamics of relationships with people from all walks of life. I highly recommend the book to anybody that wants to get some guidance to succeed.
Be humble and be a student and try to absorb as much knowledge and wisdom as possible.

Listened to this on Audible. And I can honestly say I thought it was really a phenomenal listen. My first sort of self-help book that I ever picked up. Some parts were quite long winded. However he really told some valuable advice and lessons he had learnt from good to bad that I will take away with me...and also narrated by him which was a win!

Hustle Harder, Hustle Smarter is not a book about 50 Cent's life but instead, a book about the lessons that he's learned so far in life. With each lesson, he provides 2-4 stories (whether it's about his own life or others) to help emphasize his lesson.
Although some of 50's lessons are a little generic (ex. be fearless, work hard, be passionate, grow/evolve, etc), the STORIES that go with his lessons are incredible, which add a great twist to his lessons.
I learned so many things about 50 Cent that surprised me. For example, he doesn't engage in drinking or drugs. He hates it. Instead, 50 Cent prefers to be sober when he's out so he can remain alert to his surroundings and avoid waking up hungover, which would hinder his ability to work the following day.
One thing that I really liked is that 50 Cent doesn't hold back at all in his book. He's completely transparent about his past relationships with his children, family, friends, well-known rappers, etc -- which I really appreciated. I'm not well versed in rap history so it was really interesting to read about different rivalries and events that happened back in the late 90s/early 2000s (he references Eminem, Biggie, 'Pac, Jay-Z, Kanye, Run DMC, just to name a few)
I genuinely loved every second of Hustle Harder, Hustle Smarter. It was really interesting. My only criticism is that the lessons are somewhat generic (be fearless, build a strong crew, hustle, don't be afraid to compete, etc)

I like this book a lot more than i thought. I really thought it was going to him just saying, "grind grind grind whatever", but it was far more nuanced than that. He did express the message that there os no substitute for hard work, but the book was actually some what autobiographical. He also shared many lessons he picked up from his own mistakes, and from the successful and unsuccessful people around him. Definitely worth a read, I'll surprise you
