This is a charming, touching novel about self-awareness - finding the courage to live a life free of others' expectations. It's about facing up to prejudices and forgiveness. I enjoyed the mystery of the ring and how that led to Mira's self-knowledge, love and acceptance. This is a quick, enjoyable read.

This was such a beautiful love letter to rom-coms, New York, and India!
I listened to the first half of the book on audio, narrated by the supremely talented @soneela, and truly enjoyed it. But I wasn’t going to be back in my car until Monday and I wanted to know how the story ended, so I switched to Kindle for the second half.
This is a story of found family, of finding yourself, and of navigating through familial harm. It’s a story of love and of forgiveness. Although it’s marketed as a rom-com (and that cover is just beautiful!), this is definitely heavier fare and more women’s fiction to me. I loved how much depth it had.
Mira, our protagonist, is finding herself - and the more we learn as the story goes on, the more I found myself understanding some of her personality quirks that drove me a little bonkers early on. I adore her relationship with her twin brother Rumi, and maintain that he and Saket are the best characters in the book. Adored them.
I also loved Krish and how he changed and brought out the true Mira. He is swoon-worthy.
And Vasu and Sureva - this story broke my heart and put it all the way back together.
I loved the trip to NYC (and the ode to all my favorite Rom-coms) and the journey to India (and absolutely will be having biryani tonight - the food descriptions were making me salivate!). The bringing together of cultures and worlds was beautiful.
Some very heavy topics, so check content warnings if you’re a sensitive reader (or message me).
I simply loved this story, start to finish, and am off to find Dev’s other novels!

Meh. Cute story but incredibly slow to read. The writing was a bit slow and didn’t quite flow. Appreciate the whole timeline thing but just didn’t keep me interested enough to care what happens. 3/5.
