I love diving into Sonali Dev's books and immersing myself into the Indian culture. From the food and languages to the clothing and traditions, it is a privilege to get a peek into life in the Indian community as she writes about both here in American and in India.
This book is a massive healing journey and it's not without pain and heartbreak. I love the way Mira grows throughout this book and the way Rumi cheers her on along the way (well, in his own way). From Druv and the aunties, to Reva and Krish, Mira's experiences widen her world and help her tap into who SHE is and what SHE needs and wants. It's a beautiful story but it isn't all pretty. Sensitive readers may wish to check trigger warnings for content.
