A detective gets attached to a case where a little boy is left orphaned and witnesses the person who kills his mom. He is determined to find the killer and make sure this child ends up in a great home.

Although you know who the killer is from the beginning and are reading his every move, this book was still interesting as you had no clue when he would be entering the scene and creating havoc! I read this book in two sittings, it kept me guessing from beginning to end! As any who dun it does, this book took some fantastic turns and when to a place that I couldn't predict and loved it!

Great characters and an interesting story plot. It is one of a series with Richard Christie but I read this as a stand alone and didn't need the previous novels to enjoy this one. I generally prefer who-done-it style mysteries which keep me hanging until the end for the big reveal. The villain in this book is revealed early on and the outcome is fairly predictable. I really felt connected to the characters however so forgave the novel that it lacked my usual mystery preference.
