I really enjoyed the plot and the twists and turns along the journey.

3.5

Meh. The history of Champagne and its people and their resistance during WWII was interesting. But the story was definitely soap opera-y, and the romanticizing of affairs is never great.

4.5⭐️

Typical of the genre and enjoyable.

The book has some very good plot twists and that’s why I rated it a 4. I wished the flow had been different starting in the present going through the history and then returning to the present. The back and forth was distracting. I would recommend this book though.

This book is absolutely brilliant. I’m still processing, so I’ll write more later. Thank you, Kristin, for this book. And for writing!!!

Great story with plenty of interesting facts about the region and the time period. The ending was sloppy and sweet and convoluted but I loved it.
You can learn great things from fiction!

I found the setting and history of the champagne region interesting. However I did not like the main characters in the book

I love WW2 fiction, and this story, a split time, goes to the top of my list of favorites. Set in the beautiful vineyards of Champagne, with complex characters and heart-pounding scenes, this one will keep you turning pages late into the night. Highly recommended!
