What a horrific tale. The writing was good but the story made me so angry.
How could any woman hurt her own children? So sad.

I would say the pace is medium until you get to the courtroom. Then it just drags as it goes into detail about things you’ve already read about. Overall good

Will Ann Rule write anything I don't find incredible? Probably not. She does not disappoint in her chilling account of Diane Downs, the sensual murderess from Arizona. Rule is able to balance the accounts of those involved with the case and her own findings without losing her style of writing. The chronology of the book flows perfectly. I promise you won't want to put this book down.

an absolutely captivating read, i knew the basics of this case but anne rule pulls everything together in a way that focused entirely on justice for the victims and their chance at a future. a wonderful true crime writer that i definitely want to read more off and that really stands the test of time. the news that the hugi family adopted christie and danny was truly beautiful and so glad that was included at the end of this harrowing true story.
