He sat at the bar and swirled the brown liquid around in his cup. The ice clinked on the sides of the glass and condensation dripped down onto the counter. A sports event was on the tv, but he paid it no attention. A group of men on the other end of the bar laughed at something the bartender said, but he was in his own little world… searching for the next victim.

My Lovely Wife is a thriller following a married couple who have been together for fifteen years and shit has hit the fan for them recently. A Mr. And Mrs. Smith meets Dexter tale.

Short chapters, wild twists, an unhinged couple… this thriller was entertaining! I did see a few of the twists coming (not all though!) and it wasn’t the most unique thriller I’ve ever read, but it was a popcorn read that had me flipping pages quickly. Definitely recommend for thriller fans if you haven’t already read the book.

If you like psychological thrillers featuring serial killers and need short, bingeable chapters… read this  one!

It is like watching a train crash. You don't want to keep reading, but you are intrigued. Still not sure what happened with the ending.

DNF at 30%.
Writing was effective and easy to get through, hence the additional star. Plot is where my issues with the book were.
I didn't care for the characters (I couldn't even hate them). The Holly twist could be seen a mile off.

I didn’t even notice until I read other reviews that we never learned the narrators name… very thrilling book!! Many twists and very well developed. I liked that secrets were slowly revealed and every piece of information was important

THAT LAST LINE. HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO MOVE ON FROM THIS BOOK???
this book got me better than gone girl did the first time i read it. the story keeps you distracted by giving you smaller things to figure out and then the truth slams into you when its far too late for the narrator to do anything about it.
listened to this in audio and absolutely loved it. it had my full attention in a way most audiobooks can't manage. probably one of my favorite books of the year.

My Lovely Wife was such a fun read! This is a suspense novel about a serial killer couple, and it's a pretty grim and entertaining story. I don't want to go into much about it because I think it's more enjoyable to just see everything unravel.

I started this book in the middle of the night, and that was a huge mistake 😂. It was such an addicting read, and I read way more than the 1 or 2 chapters I had intended. Pick this one up if you're looking for a good suspense story! Thank you to Berkley Pub for sending me a copy to review!
