This was actually a DNF for me. It’s our book club book and I just hated it. Just so much…no.

Kristin Hannah's Comfort and Joy offers a tranquil escape to the stunning landscapes of the Pacific Northwest. The novel follows Joy Candellaro, a woman seeking solace and renewal after a tumultuous period in her life. As she retreats to the serene beauty of the region, Hannah's evocative descriptions transport readers to a world of lush forests, rugged coastlines, and cozy towns.
The story delves into themes of grief, healing, and the power of human connection. Through Joy's journey, Hannah explores the complexities of relationships, the importance of self-discovery, and the enduring nature of hope. While the novel may not follow Hannah's typical historical fiction format, it offers a poignant and heartwarming exploration of the human spirit.

A fast Christmas read with a twist that is ...magical. Told in Joy's pov. A fable that deals with family, loss, healing, forgiveness, and dreams.  This is not one of the author's best books, but it brings you into the holiday spirit. I was able to figure out this twist early on, but I still enjoyed reading the whole story.

I didn't want this book to be this bad. I've read other work by Kristin Hannah that I adored which made this sting extra. It had the plot creativity of an early elementary student learning about creative writing. And I get the whole believe in magic lesson but it was just so ridiculous. And I hated most of these characters. They're awful people.
