While this one was an easy read, it was also very cute. It’s not groundbreaking and the writing isn’t fantastic but it’s your classic romantic Christmas story with a bit of magic added into it.

It’s not your typical Kristan Hannah novel either so don’t expect that going into it. It’s worth the read but it wasn’t amazing.

This book was a boring bummer. I thought it would be more cheesy Hallmark Christmas movie but there wasn’t enough Christmas. The story was just weird.

Very cheesy, even for a Christmas book. Read Night Road instead. :)

2.5 stars rounded up for the halo effect of Kristin Hannah. Completely implausible at its start and finish. I sought to avoid an overly maudlin Christmas novel so I went with this choice by KH. Alas, this may have more trauma than a Hallmark narrative, but the plot and the characters’ decisions require too much suspension of disbelief that holiday “magic” cannot overcome.

This read is a warm embrace with a surprising twist. Perfect blend of Christmas cheer and romance with a hint of fantasy. Very cool. Read it in a day.

Cute, heartwarming, good for the holidays kind of read. I thought it was a tad predictible and got a little slow in the middle, but it was a good story about saving your own life.
