This was a short novella with Jack as the main protagonist again, so it was a little hard for me to get into it, but it was a quick story based on a character mentioned once in DEVIL'S BUSINESS. The story started out pretty well, but it wasn't long before the story got a little confusing, adding in major figures from occultism. The base of the story wasn't bad, but I feel the details needed to be hammered out a little bit more. I also found the "twist" at the end to be a little too random, which was ironic because I was able to figure out exactly who it was almost immediately when they were introduced. I really wish I'd been more interested in this series, but I think this will be the end of it for me. Still, if you like gritty books, this could be the one for you!
