I had a hard time getting caught up in this story. It was good, but somehow it did not capture my attention fully.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Received an ARC for honest review

The book started off strong and caught my attention. Then I got a little disturbed that Brielle did not learn her lesson the first time she ran away without communicating. Glad it all worked out but this book proves that communication is key no matter how difficult it is to face it.

Part of the Doctors of Eastport General series, this standalone book will set your kindle on fire. The hot first scene sets the very tone for this book. Brielle and Sawyer are having a summer romance in secret because Sawyer is Brielle's Best friend Diane's brother. Then you are fast forwarded a few years to Brielle's daughters birthday, and shortly after that a playground accident that puts Sawyer and Brielle in the same room again after all the time. I will say Sawyer handled everything with grace and maturity and that's what really made this story for me! A second chance romance worth the read!

Really enjoyed this quick read. Brielle has a secret and misunderstandings of the past finally get resolved in this second chance story.

"I never wanted to be apart from you." ~ Sawyer

Doctor Desire by S.L. Sterling | Doctor's of Eastport General
3.5 Maple Leafs

Sawyer and Brielle connected at a party five years ago and spent the summer secretly in each other's arms and then went their separate ways. Five years later, Sawyer has returned to Eastport to find out that Brielle has been keeping a big secret from him all these years.

Sawyer and Brielle have some explosive chemistry. I love how mature Sawyer is about everything and does the right thing. Brielle is a very protective mom but I did not like how she made the mistakes but did not give people the benefit of the doubt. The book is a quick read that jumps timelines that thankfully warns about the jump.

I do enjoy how S.L. Sterling can write a novella-length book and you do not feel like you missed anything in the story.

Doctor Desire is a... medical, best friend's brother, friends-with-benefits, surprise child, second chance romance told in the dual first-person point-of-view.

Had potential

So let’s start with the fact that she had her best friends brothers baby and no one knows. First of all, my kids look identical to their father as does Emma cause that’s mentioned in the story? And NO ONE guess who the dad was?? Okay. Second, the kid is 4 years old. The screaming through the night and still needing a diaper bag cause she needs a diaper still? Also, letting the kid scream and cry for her dad and denying her the chance to see him because of your ego? Then it took weeks to even talk to him again but all the sudden you’re like let’s move in together after that?? This whole story was just too much. I was looking forward to this series but I wouldn’t read another book if you paid me. I read this because it was so short but I skipped so many pages. Honestly it was a more “let’s see how much more ridiculous this can get” type of reading. Don’t waste your time.

Best- friend's brother secret pregnancy romance! Well written and entertaining

Best friends' bother, secret romance, surprise pregnancy and a second chance romance are all covered in Doctor Desire. It is now Dr Sawyer's turn!

Five years ago Brielle and Sawyer had a secret summer fling, it was never only supposed to be a one night stand but things escalated into a summer fling. They both developed feelings for each other but neither told the other how they were really feeling. Brielle was making plans to go off to study to be a lawyer soon and Sawyer was already packed and waiting until the day set to leave and go off to medical school.

They did not remain in contact and Brielle never asked her best friend for him. She realized she was pregnant and rather than upset his career plans, she kept it all to herself.

Now Sawyer has returned and wants some answers about the little girl, but most of all he wants a relationship with Brielle. Can he convince her that he is the one for her and let them be a united family?

Doctor Desire is well written and entertaining. The connection between these two then and now is on fire! This was my first S L Sterling book and I will definitely be looking for more.

Reasons I enjoyed this book:

Easy-to-read, Entertaining, Happily Ever After, Realistic
