I loved the format of this book. Getting to spend the year reading more poetry was a great idea. However, as I continued to read through, I realised that one of my biggest issues with this book was that there were MANY poems I didnt enjoy.

Superb collection of poems for every mood and aspect of the human condition. Poets included range from household names to anonymous; mostly British & American, but from other areas as well. A great way to start your day, with many of the poems significant to the history, season, celebration, and remembrance of the day at hand. Recommended.

‘But poetry is the language we reach for when everyday language simply isn’t enough.’

I listened to this on audio and tried my best to listen to one poem a day... some times that didn’t go to plan.

However, I enjoyed this. It was nice to listen to a poem each day of the year. Unique and wonderful.

Perfect for poetry readers.

Finishing this now mainly so I can stop seeing it on my currently reading, but I shall continue. Pretty average inspiring poetry anthology, but a nice sentiment for a gift. I will inevitably receive something just like this on Christmas Day.

Having an ode to Captain Cook in this anthology is an absolutely insane choice in my opinion. So getting a 2 star for promoting colonialism.

2,5⭐ - It was fine.
I think this could work better as a poem/day. As an audiobook, I didn't want to do that, so just listened it throught.
They were not really touching me anyways
