I would have given this six stars if I could. If you're a Sandman fan, this is a must read book.

After a few years away from the characters, Neil Gaiman returned to the Sandman with this graphic novel consisting of seven short stories, one for each of the Endless. Although not required reading for the larger story of the Sandman, it's still a powerful piece of work, with new insight into the history of Dream and Desire, a clever science fiction yarn of destruction, and the tale of a man trying to escape Death by manipulating time standing out as highlights. Again, Gaiman ties his world into the greater DC Universe, and again, he crafts more facets to that world than any dozen other writers would dream of.
A nice follow-up to Sandman about the family of the Endless. Answers some things, creates more new questions.
Holy shit, what a great book. The Despair story was particularly good in a McKean-ish way.
