Story was interesting and creepy, but excessive use of flowery language made me struggle to finish an already short novella.

It's like if the Little Mermaid happened in the lore of the Dark Souls universe, specifically Bloodbourne.

This was my first Cassandra Khaw book. The description was so interesting and I was so excited to read it.

Within the first two sentences I had to stop to look up what a word meant. This continues throughout the book and makes it a very time consuming read for such a short novella.

The premise of the story could have been very good, but with the use of the unnecessary elaborate words it made the story fall to the wayside.

I really wanted to like this book, but in feel like I don’t even know what I read.
