Ferrante has the ability to draw you and not let you go. I could not put this book down until I finished. The started out slowly and cautiously, but it picked up speed like a freight train that is late arriving.

"Days of Abandonment" was a fantastic read! Like everything else I've read by Elena Ferrante, I found it to be both brilliantly written and brutally honest. Every word felt deliberate and meaningful. There was so much to unpack in just 188 pages, and I thoroughly enjoyed analyzing it throughout my reading. I am incredibly impressed by Ferrante's ability to portray the woman scorned with all its multifaceted emotions (anger, despair, sadness, and betrayal to name a few). Her visceral writing style truly immerses readers into the deepest and darkest parts of Olga's mind. I look forward to reading the rest of Ferrante's work in 2024.
