I cried. I freaking cried at the end.

Elena really went TF off … it was great

Elena Ferrante: Hylkäämisen päivät (2002 I giorni dell'abbandono) (suom.

This is the second Ferrante novel I’ve read, the first being the Lost Daughter. So I knew what to expect- the gentle, angry insanity of older womanhood- a  personal, emotional confrontation with my future. I honestly don’t have much to say past that, and not in a bad way. I love her narrators’ reminiscence, she delivers a great interior, but combined with my recent Miaojin kick it was a bit tough to really find novel things to latch onto. It was beautiful, it’s a brilliant work, I’m just not in a place to be shocked by it right now. It took me a full week to write this review, and not to digest it.
