i would say 3 1/2 instead of 4 but this isnt letterboxd and it doesnt let me do that. obvi read this after watching the movie partly because i loved the movie and partly because im writing a paper on it and wanted some extra stuff to make analysis easier. it did not do that. if anything it makes analysis harder (which i still have to do but im writing this instead of writing a whole paper and then filming and editing a video essay). anyway i enjoyed it up until the end which tbh i mainly skimmed because again, i have a paper to write. i dont have an issue with unreliable narrators (like i loved wedders section in the middle of the story that was funny) but i do hate change and being told at the end of the story that everything was wrong and a lie kind of ruined the fun lol. but i still liked this! its the first full book ive read in a while so good for her for getting me to do that. time to do my homework

Entretenido aunque en algunos momentos se me ha hecho tediosa la experimentación de este autor. Es cierto que es un libro interesante pero hay pasajes un poco largos.

A fascinating and even feminist treatment of Frankenstein, Pygmalion, and probably other books I don’t know about.

I loved this book. So unique and strange, the illustrations, and letters, and historical notes. I highly recommend!

Such a weird book that was really good in some parts and really boring in others. It will definitely not be for everyone - I can't really think of anyone I would recommend it to, to be honest. But overall, I did like it. I found the main story to be surprisingly compelling for the most part. It just got too political and repetitive in some parts. And then the notes at the end were completely unnecessary in my opinion. I'm very interested in watching the movie now to see how they translated this book to film!
