I loved this book. The performance of the narrators was so good, I highly recommend reading the audiobook. The chapters from Marcellus' perspective were my favorite, I loved the narration and being inside his head. It was a beautiful story about loneliness and friendship, calm and cozy. Of course you understand what is the plot pretty early in the book, but I liked wondering how it'll unroll. Also, I liked the general knowledge about oceanic life.

I gave this 5 stars, but it's probably closer to 4.5. I really liked the story and the writing. Liked how the author weaved in some marine biology and descriptions of the pacific northwest region without being too in your face about it. I listened to the audiobook and the narrators were phenomenal. I listen to a lot of audiobooks and these were among the best I've ever heard. Highly recommend listening (although I'm also really jealous of the paper book, which has cool artwork on the side of it). Wish there were more chapters from the perspective of Marcellus. Those were definitely my favorite chapters. I thought the ending was just ok. Everything came together a little too perfectly at the end. Seemed a little unrealistic, even though I realize this is fiction. That's the only reason I'd take off 0.5 from my rating. But, overall, a really good book. Glad I read it.
